Defra has published the full guidance for the 2026 Capital Grants offer, giving you the opportunity to prepare ahead of applications opening in July.
The scheme will make £225 million available to support environmental improvements across England, including hedgerow planting, fencing and yard improvement works such as concreting renewal.
This year’s guidance places a strong emphasis on submitting complete applications with all supporting evidence at the outset, following delays caused by incomplete submissions in 2025.
Early preparation is expected to be critical to success in what is likely to be a highly competitive round.
